The Certificate in Project Management reflects the reality faced by today's project managers by tying concepts and practices from every aspect of the project management process together with opportunities to apply new knowledge to actual projects within a realistic team environment. The Certificate in Project Management - 100% Online program was created for those who want a flexible learning environment.

Our newly revised curriculum follows the PMBOK v5® Guide, industry standards and principles, while introducing a new perspective on project mangement that reflects today’s changing world: project management as both an art and a science. Students learn the "science" of project management (the Project Manager’s Toolkit) and the "art" of project management (the Project Manager’s Skills Set) and experience different views and approaches to the Project Manager’s role and environment.

To obtain the Certificate in Project Management – 100% Online, you must successfully complete all six courses within a two-year period starting with Project Management Fundamentals. Providing prerequisites are met, it is also possible to take more than one course concurrently, if you can commit the time. Each course is delivered over 6-8 weeks. The final capstone course, Applied Project Management, is a team project.

The curriculum is focused on PMI Standards. Program requirements must be completed within two years.

Learning format

The course material includes a detailed explanation of the concepts and terminology of project management and how to apply the appropriate methods to different situations. Participants are provided with templates, tools and techniques to use for their project management activities and through online collaboration, blogs, discussions and team work, work through a variety of individual and team assignments. MS Project is introduced in the Project Manager’s Toolkit and integrated into all assignments.

Who should take this program

The Certificate in Project Management is designed for experienced workers who want to build or increase their knowledge, skills and abilities in project management. This program is not intended as a PMP exam preparation course.
The program is created for aspiring and experienced project managers, as well as project team leads and team members wanting to expand their professional competencies to include the knowledge and skills that allow them to plan, participate, and/or execute projects. The program is relevant to those working in most industries including the high-tech, corporate, education, government, and small business sectors.
Program participants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma, three years of work experience or a combination of relevant work experience and education, and fluency in the English language before entering the program. While work experience is not strictly interpreted as project management experience, some experience in this area is encouraged.

Program application

An admissions committee reviews program applications, and individuals are advised in writing as to whether they have been accepted into the program.
To apply, complete the online application form and attach the required supporting documents. As space in the programs are limited, information on the application form and in supporting documents should be as thorough as possible so that the admissions committee will have sufficient information on which to base its decision.

Program fees and schedule

The total registration fee for 100% online program is $7,975 CAD ($1,195 - $2,000 CAD for each course). An administration fee of $200 is also required.The $200 administration fee is payable upon acceptance into the program. All other course fees are paid on a course-by-course basis.

Books: Books for the Project Management Online courses are not included in the tuition fees. Students are responsible for purchasing their own books from either online book sellers, local book stores or online publishers. Books are mandatory and others are recommended in order to complete online assignments and readings.
Note: Fees are based on the current academic year and are subject to change. No deferral of the non-refundable deposit or program fees is allowed. Text and materials related to courses may constitute an additional cost. There is no fee to submit an application form.
