 The project Managment Framework 

Introduction
Project :  A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product , service or results.

A project would have three characteristics :  As follows

Temporary : Means the project has a definite beginning and ending ( finite duaration). Temporary does not necessary indicate a project of short duration. 
Unique : Means the product or service is different in some distinguishing way from all similar product or services
Progressive Elaboration   :  The purpose of a project is to attain its objective and then terminate. 

Program :  Multiple project has same objective called program  is called Program for example  :  Airport Expansion

Portfolio  :  Collection of project , program and operations call portfolio , example any Mobile operator .

Project life cycle and Organization  :   
- Has sequential or over lapping phases 
- Cost and staffing levels are low at the start , peak in the middle and fall off.
- Level of uncertainty and risk is greater at the start , chance of successful completion grows higher as the project continuous
- Ability of stakeholder to influence the project outcomes is greatest at the start and grows progressively lower
- Cost changes is lower at the start and higher as the project continious.

Project Life cycle : Cost and staffing Levels
Project Management Office : Organizations use PMO for centralize and coordinate project Management. For example , For Aeroplane , Airport control room may be PMO and The plane is a project.


Stake Holder : Those people effect or get effected . A project stake holder is any one (Individual or organisation) involve in the project, may be effected by the results. Among those many be
  • Project Manager
  • Customer /User
  • Sponsor
  • Project Team
  • PMO
  • Seller or Business partner
  • Citizen or society
Triple Constrain : Project are managed through a delicate balance of three key factors :  Scope , Time ( Schedule ) and cost. Any change means the change of the baseline of the factor. The overall quality and success of a project are frequently determined by how effective these constraints are managmed,
This three factors are related to each other. Other constrains are there like quality , Resource , Risk but they are not the driving force.

  • Sucess on triple contraint vital to project success
  • A change in one factor likely to affect other factor
  • Must consider whether any constraint is more important than the other.
